Day 34, Portree to Dunvegan 72m

Woke to horizontal rain sweeping accross the site, as per forecast, so we set off for the north of the isle, which may not have been a good idea, because we couldn't see  further than 50 feet in front for most of the time. However, the fog cleared enough at Kilt rock near Staffin to get a pic of the impressive formation, where dinosaur footprints have been found. We looked but didn't see one walking around!
After a slow journey round the northern tip of Skye we fetched up at Stein and the oldest inn on the island for lunch, with high hopes of some decent fodder or even a Sunday roast. Er no ! They had very little on the menu so just had a crab sarnie, which was tasteless and not worth the £5.95. Visited Skyeskins, where they tan sheepskins - almost bought a rug for £750.

Dunvegan castle
The castle was undergoing some restoration so the camera person has taken a bit of artistic licence to get this shot!!  It was an interesting look at the clan MacLeod family history.
We then  continued to Dunvegan camp site on the side of the loch, low and behold, just as the sun came out to play
