Day 24 Stromness, Orkney

A fabulous morning, no wind which is practically unknown in Orkney. We decide to play Stromness Golf course while the weather is good. Takes 5 minutes to walk to the club house where its another honesty box, £25 each, and help yourself to any trolley that takes your fancy in the shed! A real tricky course, with 7 par 3's and some sneaky water on a few holes. We played it at its most benign and, shock horror, Ross 34pts, me 31.
Had an afternoon lazing in the sun then biked into Stromness, only half mile away, to send a card and gift to my niece, Becky,  who has just had a baby boy. Ross insisted that I had a momento of our adventure in the form of a necklace from an Orkney based designer. I obviously argued that it was too exrtavagant but had to give in under pressure.
Rounded the day off with another trip into the town on the bikes to Hamnavoe Restaurant for catch of the day, lobster with mushroom and whisky sauce. Mmmmmmmm!
