Day 30. Poolewe

Poolewe Sunset
Taz asleep in a hole
Off Piste
Inverewe Gardens
At the furthest point of the bike ride

Woke to the strange sound of rain! Didn't last long so decided to walk round a nearby loch, having heard a woman in the shower block talking about it. Having  convinced Ross I knew exactly where we should go,  we set off. After about a mile, we were on uncharted moorland, bogs, heather, rocks, the odd sheep, and no discernable path whatsoever! In true off piste spirit, we kept on going and after a few miles climbed over a fence into a farmers yard and found our way back to camp.
Spent a couple of hours at National Trusts Inverewe Gardens, where we were too late for a cream tea (closes at 4!!) so decided to look for the path we should have taken this morning, but on the bikes.
Followed a path from the village which was a good tarmac road to start, with but once we found the loch it was not rideable - well, not for two old farts anyway!
Retraced our steps, and just about fell into the van, groping for the white wine in the fridge before collasping in a heap!
While writing this the frying pan lid has been sitting on a low flame gas, which I omitted to turn off, and melted the handle and the screws have dropped out! No frying tomorrow!!
