Day 22 Dunnet Bay

Woke up to drizzle, however this did not last long and soon we were heading for the Dunnet forest trails. Actually it was only half a mile up the road, but I just wanted to dramatise it a bit. Anyway, we had a nice walk with Taz in this the most northern forest in mainland Britain. It was then off to Thurso for lunch at a bistro in this small but quaint town. After this, it was on to Thurso golf club for a round, but first we had to find the place. After a 15 mile round trip, we finally arrived, realising we had been within 500 yards of the place, about 13 mile ago!
We asked a chap where the pro shop was, who replied, "This is the Highlands laddy, there is nay pro shop, just a wee honesty box in the changing rooms"!  However, the course which is the most northerly course on the British mainland, was really good and a fine challenge with some fabulous views over Dunnet Head and the bay. Once again Paula won the day with a six point advantage, with 33 against a pathetic 27 from me.
